Vikram Singh Mehta
Vikram currently serves as the executive chairman of Brookings India in New Delhi and a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution. Mehta started his career with the Indian Administrative Service in 1978. He resigned in 1980 to join Phillips Petroleum in London as their senior economist. In 1984, he returned to India to join the government company Oil India Ltd. as an advisor for strategic planning. He joined Shell International in London in 1988. He was appointed managing director of Shell Markets and Shell Chemical Companies in Egypt in 1991, and chairman of the Shell Group of Companies in India in 1994.


Commodore Kabir Vasudeva
Chief Operating Officer

Commodore Kabir Vasudeva served in the Indian Navy for 30 years. During his distinguished service as an Engineer Officer and a steam specialist, he held multifarious appointments afloat on warships and ashore including at the Dockyards in Mumbai and Visakhapatnam. Kabir is an alumni of the Defence Services Staff College Wellington. Prior to his retirement he was at the prestigious National Defence College for a period of five years.

Kabir was the Executive Director of the Pacific Asia Travel Association just before joining Brookings India.

Nitika Mehta, Head of Communications & Development
Nitika is a communications expert with over 15 years of experience as an editor, researcher and journalist with media houses, industry, United Nations, and international organisations in Switzerland, Australia, Singapore & India.


Krishan Kumar Sharma, Head of Finance
Krishan is responsible for coordinating finance, accounts and banking related matters between Brookings India, New Delhi and Brookings Institution, Washington DC.


K.J. Basskaran, Head of Admin
Mr. K J Basskaran is currently Head Admin, Brookings Institution India Center. Prior to this he was HR and Admin In-charge of the National Foundation for India

Monica Chawla, Administrative Assistant
Monica worked previously at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the American School in New Delhi. She studied commerce at Delhi University.
